What is matcha? :
Matcha like green tea comes from a plant known as \”Chinese camellia\” whose scientific name is Camellia sinensis, but it grows differently and has unique nutrients.
Farmers develop matcha by covering tea plants approximately 20 to 30 days before harvesting, to avoid direct sunlight, which helps increase chlorophyll production, enhances amino acid content, and gives the plant a dark green color. After the tea leaves are harvested, they are quickly steamed, dried and placed in dirty ovens for about 20 minutes, then the workers remove the unnecessary stems and parts, leaving only the useful leaves, then grinding them for matcha powder.
Matcha contains nutrients from the entire tea leaf, which results in a greater amount of caffeine and antioxidants than those found in green tea. Matcha has increased in popularity in recent years in Arab countries after spreading in China and Japan for hundreds of years, and the emergence of matcha tea, latte, and even dessert has begun in many shops and cafes.
